In many hospitals and clinics, practitioners have worked alongside doctors and nurses at the request of the patient or family members who believe in modern alternative medicine and healing therapies.

Spiritual healing has its own rules; a code of conduct which is always at the forefront of a spiritual healer’s mind when accepting an invitation to heal.

The aim of spiritual healing is to restore a human or animal’s body back to a level of good health. The idea is to bring about peace of mind and body and to treat and lighten the physical and emotional loads of stress which can build up over a person’s lifetime. Spiritual healing is capable of reducing the toxins in the body to help encourage a speedy recovery.

There are many healing techniques across the world; these vary according to one’s culture. The aim, however, is the same: to create an inner connection which will bring about transference of energy via the hands of the qualified spiritualist healer to their patient.

There is no requirement to remove clothing for the transference of the energy to the patient; the healing itself is a spiritual source.

A spiritual healer will have no idea what a person is feeling during a session of healing, some clients report a feeling of warmth while others say they felt a refreshing coolness. Others report a slight tingling all over their body; all, however, agree it is calming to mind and body.

It is important to note that a pregnant woman cannot receive spiritual healing and a minor must always bring a parent or guardian as a letter of consent must be signed.

It’s also worth noting that the Moon is the planet of the sacral chakra and for a crystal healer or practitioner, the most effective stone to use is the Tiger’s Eye.

As a medium and crystal healer, I will always stress the importance that my clients visit their doctor to solve any medical problems which may cause any imbalances in mind or body.

Our work often evolves fast and our lifestyles, at times, can get out of control. A person dealing with career or personal issues can soon find themselves engulfed in anxiety and can suffer from back pain, cystitis and digestive cramps.

With this in mind, here are some tips to help bring balance to the sacral chakra:

1. Yoga classes can often help. Choose one of the many hip-opening postures and remember to breathe correctly

2. Dancing can be a great asset to all areas of the body; especially the lower back and abdomen

3. Balance your other chakras and remember to visualise the colour orange

4. Try to let go of emotional issues. Release any old baggage and build up new emotions to ensure you are an empowered person. You may see me repeating this but being able to let go of unhealthy emotions is extremely important. By releasing old baggage, we create space and energy for new, better opportunities.

However, the wonderful collection of books that has come to adorn my shelves has become what I can only describe as smelly! The musty smell that has become associated with my book collection annoys me to no end. After all, the author has taken time and effort to put these personal words onto paper; it makes sense to preserve the books in the best way possible.

In the past, I have strived to protect my Reiki books, spiritual healing books and my crystal healing books. Many of these, along with my various training manuals, are now out of print.

In the future, I will stop working as a medium and spiritualist healer, safe in the knowledge that I am to join my mother in a different world. When this time comes, I would like to make sure that my books go to a Spiritualist church in order to help those who are just starting on their journey; as I did years ago.

There are a couple of simple ways you can help ensure your literature is well preserved. For instance, discount stores often sell plastic boxes which are great storage solutions. It’s important to choose one large enough to fit a baking tray into the bottom. This nifty trick will lift your books up and away from the bottom of the container. If you are storing books in a large container, purchase some chicken wire and cut to size instead.

The most suitable boxes tend to be the ones with no handles or vents as these can allow air to get inside; hindering your preservation efforts. As for the odour of your books, it’s important to have some bicarbonate of soda handy. With this trick, the idea is to sprinkle some of the soda onto the bottom of the container, on top of the books and on the rack. Once this has been done, seal the box and leave it for a couple of days. The soda will have absorbed the smells and you should be pleased with the results.

Some of my older, most precious books, such as those about the lives of older mediums and my spiritual healing books, took a little longer to lose their smell than it did with many of the others; it’s important to be patient.

If your collection is relatively small, or you only have one or two books which carry a musty smell, you can sprinkle the soda onto the book inside a plastic bag. Once done, take time to brush away all of the powder.

With the help of quality gemstones and crystals, a crystal healer or practitioner will know which stone has the power to help their patient or client. The various qualities of each crystal can bring about peace to a person’s soul when it needs soothing.

The amethyst is well known to work hard at healing both mind and body. Spiritual healing is provided by the purple rays that emit from the amethyst to the part of the body that is crying out for help.

When used correctly, this wonderful stone can help a person to release their negative energy, while at the same time replacing the negativity with a lighter, more positive feeling.

A crystal healer or spiritual healer will know that their client, when sitting up from their session of crystal healing, will require a glass of water to allow them to become grounded again.

Sometimes referred to as the ‘stone of happiness’, the amethyst comes in a range of violet shades; great as a visual meditation tool. The amethyst is the best stone for cleansing the human body and can be used effectively to:

- reduce stress and enhance sleep patterns
- bring about a sense of calmness

Crystal and spiritual healing sessions are all about raising the energy levels of both humans and animals.

Like the blood in our bodies, this life force energy moves around but with a difference. Its job is to support the physical, emotional, and spiritual when these elements are stagnant, or blocked.

There is a common term or word that is used when we feel ill or imbalanced and that is ‘disease’. The word itself conjures up an image of not feeling well with the world itself.

Sometimes the disease as we have now, called the term of imbalance, can become apparent in the physical with aches and pains such as arthritis or back pain.

If it is an emotional issue that has been supressed, the problem can eventually manifest itself in the form of depression or a form of rage, due to a person feeling trapped.

All of the above happens when the river of life flowing around the body has been trapped somewhere, waiting to be released by a Reiki practitioner.

Reiki healing given to a person or animal by a qualified Reiki practitioner, is a process that can remove many blocks of disease, whether it is more physical than mental or a painful experience that has meant a person has not healed emotionally.

Reiki is hands-on-healing and a Reiki healer will use this universal life force energy which is transmitted via their hands to give healing to a person in need.

The healing energy will start a process of clearance giving the cellular levels of the body time to open and receive the healing force of energy they are calling out for. The healing can feel cool or warm to the recipient.

The healing energy will clear what is known as an aura, and a number of chakras.

Chakras are situated at different places in the body and they can become a little dirty or clogged up -just like the engine of a motor car. Reiki energy being transmitted via the hands of a Reiki practitioner will clear away the dirt to help the body’s life force to kick start the body’s engine, bringing a type of relief.

I choose the word ‘type’ of relief as each person is an individual and could be coping with a wide range of disease or emotional problems. Some people are easier to heal than others.

One of the greatest accomplishments with Reiki healing is that it helps the body to relax by helping a person to have some much-needed sleep.

Mr Mikao Usu was a Japanese Buddhist monk who found and brought this healing concept to many people.

He learned lessons, and it was his mission to help others before on his path of enlightenment. He was given the essence of the healing gift that is now renowned all over the world.

It was he who attuned Mrs. Hawayo Takat, who in turn decided the healing gift should be made accessible to everyone.

Mrs. Hawayo Takati decided to attune more individuals of the same mind as Reiki Masters before Reiki healing was brought from Japan to the West in 1937.

Mrs Hawayo Takata continued to teach her beloved Reiki healing until her passing in 1980. This legacy of this wonderful gift lives on and has now reached many parts of the western world taking their rightful place with other healing therapies.

I made up my mind to read as much as I could about Reiki, healing is part of my makeup being a sensitive medium. The next step was to find a reputable Reiki healer (master).

Now for me as a Reiki Master myself, seeing the results that a Japanese Buddhist found many years ago is quite humbling.

However much a person hears about Reiki healing and its success, I use it in many ways, but it can not be compared with my gift as a medium.

I realise I am able to direct a powerful energy thanks to this healing energy which flows through my hands.

The end result for many people is a change or a different attitude to life in general when their bodies work its own magic by taking this energy and distributing it to the parts that are tired or out of balance.

In answer to the most popular question asked of me about Reiki healing, a Reiki practitioner will lay his or her hands on or just over a person’s body, where the energy points in the body are based. The recipient can at times feel a slight heat or coolness which they find relaxing.

The physical body, especially the head area, is very sensitive and it is this part which has a connection to the rest.This chakra is found just under the Stellar Gateway chakra, mentioned in the previous article. Both of these chakras allow the distribution of energy, and send out spiritual connections to each and every person living today.

The crown chakra cups this spiritual energy and lets it overflow to all in need; it also endows you with the way of ‘knowing’ which everyone refers to as ‘psychic’.

As a working medium, the Crown chakra and the Stellar Gateway is important to me as they are used to highten my vibration in relation to my private readings.

The crown chakra has other attributes such as selflessness, and enabling a person to empathise with other people and animals.

When a person is deep in thought or has the ability to make use of a high degree of intelligence, it is the crown chakra which is working at its best. The pineal gland situated near the crown chakra helps both chakras to function at a higher consciousness and to resonate with higher ideals.

The chakra colours or stones that are associated with the crown chakra are violet and white. If you feel drawn to these colours, you may need the energy that the colour brings with it, or you are using the natural spiritual and sensitive side of you.

When I am giving a private reading at my home in Cheshire, like most mediums I work well using my crown chakra which naturally enables me to listen to spirit and then relay to you messages of best wishes.

This feeling hinges on the eighth chakra, which is usually referred to as the ‘Soul Star Chakra’ as it is the seat of the soul. When looking at your head the soul star chakra can be found about one width of your hand just above the crown.

The crown of the head has its own chakra, which I will write about at another time; the Soul Star chakra is not as well known but is very powerful in the process of crystal healing and other healing practices.

Some books on crystal healing or about chakras will refer to it as a transpersonal chakra, or the ‘Stellar Gateway’.

The Stellar Gateway is the point or opening for spirit energy, and divine love enters and filters itself through the body. Its job is to energise the body and distribute wisdom and compassion.

One of the stones which can be used to enhance the energy that may be at low ebb is the Tanzanite crystal. Healing with this highly sought after stone can allow old negative energy to be dispersed, while boosting and balancing the internal and external body.

A practitioner of crystal healing will understand the different chakras and how each one helps a body to be in tune and energised. He or she will also talk to you and help you to allow you to feel well enough to let go of worries you that may be holding you back.

Many of the body’s organs including the heart and those towards the middle of the back can benefit from this type of healing.

The relaxation given to mind and body with a session of crystal healing after or before an operation can bring relief in abundance.

Whether a person eats whatever they fancy or whether they are trying to be healthy by counting calories, most of the time, food is eaten too quickly. A subsequent problem of this speed is that it affects the digestive organs, causing them to be sluggish. This then affects the liver and gall bladder.

However, help is at hand for a person to bring about a change to their bodies in their own home or with a crystal healer, with yellow or golden stones that can bring back digestive harmony.

One of the ways a person can help themselves at home is by using a stone called amblygonite. The stone is bright yellow in colour and contains lithium which is well known as an aid in the art of meditation.

Using crystal healing as regular therapy can help with the functionality of the working of the major organs in a person’s body, including the gall bladder and liver. The imbalance of the digestive system may have a link to obesity or weight issues.

It is this wheel that allows a person the inner feeling of responsibility for others, whether it is caring for everyone or allowing one’s own personal courage to appear when needed.
A person will feel full of goodwill to others and have self-esteem, brimming full of confidence, when their solar plexus chakra is in good order.
The best way to know if your solar plexus chakra is in good order is to listen to your ‘gut feeling’. You can trust the old saying ‘if it feels right’ – trust yourself in your decisions.

With crystal healing in particular, stones can be used in this particularly sensitive area to bring about an uplifting feeling. Crystal healing is sometime required when a person has been under a great deal of stress for a long time.
A qualified crystal healer will place an array of crystals and other healing stones on different parts of a person. The result of this is a feeling of both stimulation and calmness in various parts of the physical body.
The result is a higher flow of energy that can benefit a person in many ways, especially in bringing about a sense of calm to mind and body.
