When I am not working, the vibrations on which I would normally work with tend not to be high enough for me to hear or see those around me. However, when I am sat across from a client in a private meeting, the situation is different; I am shown pictures and I hear voices. This is known as Clairaudience.

Unless it is a child giving me a message, which is quite rare, I personally do not have the ability to distinguish between tones. My guides and I do not have conversations every day. In fact, quite the opposite is true. When I am living in my ‘normal time’, my gift closes down. This can lead to my guides complaining that they cannot get through with urgent messages.

A medium possesses a gift which is meant to be used naturally. The gift should only be working when required; it can, otherwise, make one feel low and a little flat. Mediums will train their gift of communication as it should be used wisely; when used naively, such a gift can cause things to go wrong.

I give private readings in homes around Cheshire and the North West and while I am not a psychic, I possess the wonderful gift of Clairaudience. In a private reading, I am lucky enough to have the ability to convert this gift to the Tarot. Cards are a great tool to solve the material problems which exist in everyone’s life.

It’s important, at this point, to note that my clients make their own life decisions and it is up to them to choose what they do next.

A medium who uses this type of gift will know it involves the hearing of voices or sounds. Despite its effectiveness, this gift can interfere with a person’s home life if it is not managed well.

However, many clients do not realise that the messages are being communicated on a psychic level and some will find it easier than others to pass on the information from their own mind to their medium. Unfortunately, this can lead to clients doubting the medium’s ability. In actual fact, the whole process relies on both the medium and the client to work properly; it is very important to bear this in mind.

‘Clairaudience’ is a French term and when translated into English means clear hearing. Quite often, this gift works alongside the medium receiving visions and pictures in their mind. These images will create a fuller, vivid overall image; helping to speed up the process.

Quite often, a person who is not a medium will hear their name being called by a caring relative. There are also certain, talented musicians who have the gift of clairaudience. These cases often involve the passing of music from composers of the past.

It’s important to bear in mind that a medium will not go around giving out unwanted messages in their spare time. As with any of us, they have their own life to live here on earth and their own problems to go with it.

If you check in a thesaurus the descriptions of the words ‘psychic’ can also be found under ‘clairvoyant’ and ‘medium’. No wonder it can be confusing.

As a working medium I meet many people who wish to understand more about the work that I do and they too are in the process of making up their mind as to whether or not they would like to attend a development course.

Psychic awareness is present in all humans, especially the young.  This is the ‘knowing’ that grandma is going to telephone and in the next ten minutes, guess who calls you on the landline? Yes, grandma.

Psychic awareness is a natural gift, in general terms known as ‘telepathy or extra sensory perception.

This gift or awareness with training can become more developed, however it is no good thinking everything that pops in to your head is a message for someone near you.

One of the responsibilities that comes with any of the gifts that a medium or psychic has is to make sure before giving out any message, that the person the message is intended for actually wants to hear it from a friend or relative.

‘Clairvoyance’ is a different type of gift more commonly used by a medium like myself but some humans have a different style of ‘clear seeing’ – one that shows a situation or event that happens in the future or pictures scenes from the past.

A medium will use his or her gift of clairvoyance to describe items or situations and memories given to them from friends and family who have left this earth and passed over to another existence.

‘Clairaudience’ is when a medium listens to sound, such as speech, or a noise, and can pass the words that form to the person wishing to have a message.

Depending on the clarity of the message, a medium may only pick up only odd words or a sentence and not a paragraph about their life, which is sometimes expected from a person who has booked a private reading.

The clairvoyant gift that was bestowed upon me to use to help others has been with me for a long time now; too many years to mention.

I believe it is my duty to pass on any communications given to me from friends and family to a person who is sat in front of me.

However sometimes it can be a little difficult if the person who has passed from this world is having trouble communicating with me.

What worries a large percentage of my clients who reach out emotionally for a message when they arrive for their private reading is that their relative or friend is still suffering with their earthly painful illness or injury.

Let me reassure everyone that when a loved one passes over, their divine spirit exists and their physical body is shed, and the pain is gone.

As a working medium who has taken the time to help others, I have to let my clients know before they book an appointment that there are no guarantees that a friend or relative will have a message for them.

Friends and relatives do not come forward with a message just because you want a message from them.
It is important to remember that there are five senses that a working medium can draw upon to give a healing gift that is available to humans and animals.

The gift of clairvoyance (seeing) and clairaudience (listening to sound) exists in most cultures and has been used to bring peace to mind and body to many who have been in need of re-assurance.

In this fast moving world a medium in the UK and abroad will each use their gift and seize the opportunity to help others with both emotional and material problems.

The government has now introduced a new law which has to be told in verbal or written word that mediumship is not confirmed as a science and is for entertainment purposes.

Let me give you some information about the start of realisation you are clairaudient and how you could become a trainee medium; it may be that you can already hear voices, for others please note that sometimes a voice can be heard when you wake up but would disappear when you undertake your daily tasks. Try to check if you feel as though you have heard voices just outside of the normal hearing sense, as though a person is actually talking to you and they are in the room. For some people they may just remember voices in their dream state.

A ringing in the ear would normally cause a person to worry they are starting with a problem with loss of hearing, however, this can also be the start of your awakening to becoming open to clairaudient sounds (always check with your local GP that your ears are ok).

Most talented musicians and composers are often clairaudient; this is because they can hear a melody in their heads before they write it down.

If you are not sure if you are sensitive then try out this seven day exercise:

Sit propped up on your bed, make an effort to listen to the outside world, whether it is cars passing by or the birds making their tuneful noise, maybe an aeroplane is passing over your house or the neighbours are talking out loud in their gardens.

On a normal day a person automatically shuts out these noises so they can sleep and not be disturbed, a professional medium that regularly works in churches or gives private readings would be able to separate the noises when they are working.

Take your time and try to listen to all the sounds and recognise their individuality.

The loudest sounds will be easy so you can count those first, write down the number you recognised on a piece of paper over the next seven days and listen for the sounds that are a little more subtle, count them and make a note.

When you have done this for a week you should be amazed at the number of sounds you have recorded. One word of warning however, if you are too tired you will automatically fall asleep, but do not give up; just try again the next night.

How many times have drivers decided to make a hasty decision to stop at the traffic lights even when they are on green? Or turn left knowing when it will take them longer to get home, only to find that they have missed a car crash or road works that would have held them up for a considerable time?

Most of the time these ‘happenings’ are placed as fate, but in actual fact the knowledge and actions are due to a feeling known as Clairsentience which mediums use during a private reading.

Clairsentience can be defined as a psychic sense which can be developed by mediums, and can be used to help others.

A medium will have been given a large percentage of information by using clairsentience, but will use other gifts, which can be either visual or auditory.

In my work as a medium, when I have contact with a departed person or my band of spirit guides, I am able to use more than one gift of mediumship. For instance, clairvoyance is given to me in picture form and clairaudience is when I listen and relate any verbal conversation passed to me for the person having a private reading.
