How the view on tarot readings has changed

Playing cards were first invented in India, before spreading to China. They were introduced to Europe by the Saracens in 1275. The first known Tarot cards were created sometime between 1430 and 1450 in Italy – The Duke of Milan would often have special parties where ‘Triumph Cards’ would be placed on all the tables as a form of entertainment. Although Tarot cards started off as a parlour game, in 1540 people who had an interest in the occult decided that Tarot and their symbolic pictures were an ideal tool for divination, and a system was devised for lying out the cards.

A pack of Tarot Cards are similar to ordinary playing cards with four suits, these include a queen, king, knight, and in some packs there are four princesses and pages.
Nowadays, Tarot readings are used as a tool in private readings by psychics to show different paths that may be opening up in a person’s future.

Another interesting aspect to Tarot cards is that there are other pictorial elements in the pack which, when used correctly, can be used to divine important events and decisions that await a person in the future.

A private reading usually cannot provide definitive advice; there is usually no bad news given during a reading, as a Tarot reading is all about resolving material and emotional issues. A person who receives a reading is encouraged to make up their own mind about their life and what they feel is correct for them.
